Summer Forum
Our Summer Forum will take place in Scuol, Switzerland. Nestled in the Lower Engadin valley of the Swiss canton of Graubünden, Scuol sits at a remarkable confluence of boundaries — where Switzerland meets Austria, where the Alps give way to wilder, less-travelled terrain, and where the ancient Romansh language has held its ground for centuries against the currents of modernity. The village's history stretches back to medieval times, when it served as a trading post along routes connecting the Germanic north with the Latin south, making it a place where cultures, languages, and ideas have always crossed paths.
Its striking Engadin-style architecture — houses adorned with sgraffito ornaments and deep-set windows — tells the story of a community that built beauty at the edge of the known world. Scuol has long been a place where people come to restore themselves, famed for its mineral springs and thermal baths that draw visitors seeking something beyond the ordinary. It is precisely this spirit — of threshold, of encounter, of reaching past the familiar — that makes Scuol the ideal setting for a forum dedicated to thinking and acting beyond borders. Here, at the meeting point of landscapes, languages, and civilisations.
